Parent Association Elections

 
Dear HSSL Families,
 
The elections for the parent association executive offices will take place Wednesday May 29th at 6pm in person in room 1E12.
 
The following positions are up for election:
  • President - The executive representative of the service & learning parent body, member of all committees created by the parent association, parent representative on the School Leadership Team (SLT), HSSL representative on the High School Presidents Council.
  • Co-President - Splits the roles and responsibilities mentioned above with the incumbent president.
  • Secretary- Keeps meeting minutes, and all official non-financial records and reports of the parent association.
  • Treasurer- Keeps all financial reports, records, and receipts of the parent association. 
  • Secretary-Treasurer - Assist secretary and treasure in record keeping duties, as well as conspondes with membership.
All roles require a 1 school year term in office commitment (June 2024 - May 2025). Executive board members are required to hold at least 1 executive board meeting per month, and 9 general membership meetings per school year. 
 
If you are interested in nominating yourself or another parent of a High School for Service & Learning student. Please send the name of the person along with the position you are nominating them for to our election committee chairperson Ms. Martiza Kerr [email protected] by May 21st 8am.
 
ONLY NOMINATIONS SENT TO MS. KERR WILL BE PLACED ON THE BALLOT. ANY VACANT POSITIONS WILL BE VOTED UPON IN AN EXPEDITED ELECTION NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 30TH 2024. 
 
Nominees will have an opportunity to speak to the general parent body pre-election in the virtual meeting held on  Wednesday May 22nd at 6pm (The link will be sent out Monday May 20th).
